2. Conference year and strand: 2009 - Week in the Classroom
3. URL of session: http://k12onlineconference.org/?p=449

Summary:

5. Questions: I wonder if there are more resources out there to explain in simple terms copyright?
6. Prof. Development: This session has opened up my eyes concerning what I can and cannot use. I did not know that I could not put things on the web!
7. Ideas: Create a lesson for my students concerning copyright. Speak with our media specialist about copyright and ask him if he might create a short presentation for the students concerning copyright.

Session #2:

1. Name of session: "Options for Building your teacher website"
2. Conference year and strand: 2009 - Getting Started
3. URL of session: http://k12onlineconference.org/?p=479

Summary:

5. Questions: We have a school wide website page for each teacher where we list our assignments, I wonder if I need to set up my own or if I can just embellish the one we have with graphics?? Must ask our IT wizards.
6. Prof. Development: I have used our school's set up site to post lesson plans, attach handouts, etc. But I think that I might want my own so that I can make it creative!
7. Ideas: I could also set up a website for my cross country teams, and golf team.

Session #3:

1. Name of session: "Around the World with Skype"; Silvia Rosenthal Tolisano
2. Conference year and strand: 2009 - A week in the classroom
3. URL of session: http://k12onlineconference.org/?p=481

5. Questions: Who wouldn't want to use Skype in the classroom for any age student and in any discipline???
6. Prof. Development: We could Skype with our sister school in Liberia, West Africa. We could Skype with anyone!!
7. Ideas: Unlimited!

Session #4:
1. Name of session: "If you host it, they will come"; Jen Wagner
2. Conference year and strand: 2009 - Getting Started
3. URL of session: http://k12onlineconference.org/?p=465

5. Questions: What would be a good project topic????
6. Prof. development: I could see doing an online project with my Bio classes.
7. Ideas: some current event topics in Biology

Session #5:

1. Name of Session: "Building a web 2.0 culture"; Paul Curtis
2. Conference year and strand: 2009 - Leading the Change
3. URL of session: http://k12onlineconference.org/?p=457
4. Summary:

5. Questions: Would this work in most high schools????
6. Prof. development: In our school, we do give our students more freedom than most however, beginning this fall all of our freshman will have Toshiba tablets in the classrooms. Therefore, I see a need for the students to take more ownership in their learning and which websites, etc...
7. Ideas: I do plan on implementing more of a student centered atmosphere in my classroom and more collaboration with others. I am going to try and get away from the traditional "teacher centered" lessons.

Session #6;
1. Name of session: "Digiteens: Digital Citizenship from Digital Teenagers"; Vicki Davis
2. Conference year and strand: 2009 - Leading the Change
3. URL of session: http://k12onlineconference.org/?p=431
4. Summary:

5. Questions: What did the students get out of these?
6. Prof. Devel: There is a great need with the technology available now for kids to learn to be responsible and have digital citizenship. I do think that schools must do the educating and simply cannot "ban" kids from certain sites and expect them to understand why....we must teach them.
7. Ideas: Digiteen project with a school from another country, set up a wikispace, comment, etc.

Session #7:

1. Name of session: "Oh the Possibilities" by Lisa Parisi
2. Conference year and strand: 2008 - Kicking It Up a Notch
3. URL of session: http://k12onlineconference.org/?p=333
4. Summary:

The key to a PBL classroom is to make the students the experts not you. Teach it once and then let the students help each other. Another key is Planning. You must plan out your project in detail so that your actual classroom is not a zoo when you introduce the project. Must have a rubric with clear, concise expectations. Websites for rubrics: http://rubistar.4teachers.org/index.php and www.teach-nology.com/web_tools/rubrics/
5. Questions: Where do you get project ideas????
6. Prof. Devel.: In my Marine Bio and Bio, we do a project each semester. I can see myself using a tool on web 2.0 instead of the old ppt!
7. Ideas: Glogster, Pixton, and any of the other tools. I think that I will let my students decide what ways to create their project!

Session #8:

1. Name of session: "Back-channels in the classroom" - Scott Snyder; http://integratingtech.wikispaces.com/Classroom+Backchannels
2. Conference year and strand: 2008 - Kicking It Up a Notch
3. URL of session: http://k12onlineconference.org/?p=330
4. Summary:

Some limitations of back channeling: available bandwidth, teacher must multitask, student tracking and accountability (stealing another student's identity and you must discuss digital responsibility before you back channel the first time). The problem with Skype is that everyone has to be a registered user, but this might work for us.
Resources: After looking at four different sources, I would like to delve into two in more depth: www.coveritlive.com and www.backnoise.com
5. Questions: How hard is it to manage the channels while live discussion is going on?
6. Prof. Devel: This is just one more tool that I could use to liven up a traditional lesson.
7. Ideas: Use this in my Marine Bio class instead of their journal while viewing a Blue Planet DVD.

Session #9:

5. Questions: Where to start??? Start here: http://teachweb2.wikispaces.com
6. Prof. Devel: I will continue to experiment with what I have learned with these tools and see how best to implement them in my classroom.
7. Ideas: Could I introduce web 2.0 at my technology session??

Session #10:

1. Name of session: "Overcoming Entrophy" - Louise Maine at http://k12online08presenters.wikispaces.com/Louise+Maine
2. Conference year and strand: 2008 - Leading the Change
3. URL of session: http://k12onlineconference.org/?p=345
4. Summary:

5. Questions: How to motivate others who don't necessarily want to be motivated?
6. Prof. Devel: I know that some teachers will be more receptive than others. I am going to try and focus on my own classroom and incorporating new tools and then I can try and reach out to more of our faculty.
7. Ideas: I am a big proponent of leading by example...once I have my ducks in a row then maybe I can help others~!
